How to Install ftpd software package in Ubuntu 12.04 LTS (Precise Pangolin)

ftpd software package provides File Transfer Protocol (FTP) server, you can install in your Ubuntu 12.04 LTS (Precise Pangolin) by running the commands given below on the terminal,

$ sudo apt-get update
$ sudo apt-get install ftpd

ftpd is installed in your system.

Make ensure the ftpd package were installed using the commands given below,

$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep ftpd *

You will get with ftpd package name, version, architecture and description in a table
